My Specialized Massage Techniques

Trigger Point

Simply rubbing the surface of the skin with a massage lotion, a vibrating massager or using heat will not change the tissue of a single trigger point. What it needs is sufficient deep sustained pressure to the "knotted-up area." As I work the Trigger Point, your body will undergo soft tissue release, allowing for increased blood flow, a reduction in muscle spasm, and the break-up of scar tissue. It will also help remove any build-up of toxic metabolic waste.

Your body will also undergo a neurological release, reducing the pain signals to the brain and resetting your neuromuscular system to restore its proper function. In other words, everything will again work the way it should.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two. Deep tissue work varies greatly.

Myofascial Release

A form of soft tissue therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction and resulting pain and restriction of motion. It is a treatment accomplished by relaxing contracted muscles, increasing circulation and lymphatic drainage, and stimulating the stretch reflex of muscles and overlying fascia.

Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system is a part of our circulatory system, comprising of a network of conduits called lymphatic vessels that carry a clear fluid called lymph unidirectionally towards the heart.

Prenatal

Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.

Chair Massage

Chair massage is a style of seated massage that is typically short -- 10 or 15 minutes -- and focuses on your back, shoulders and neck and arms. Chair massage is done over clothes and doesn't require any oil.

Assisted Stretching

One on one session designed to stretch you safely and at a level you could not reach on your own. It will increase your mobility, range of motion and flexibility.
